More donations sent to Ukraine
Our donations are distributed in Poland, close to the border of Ukraine.
All the Aid for Ukraine donations we collect, whether goods or money, continue to be needed more than ever. Regularly Ewa, who ceaselessly delivers our donations from eastern Poland across the border and some 1,000 km into Ukraine to Kherson and neighbouring villages, sends photos of folk who are so grateful for what they receive. But it means so much more – they feel remembered; someone cares and is thinking about them in their need. Every single box contains LOVE.

Our latest truck, on Monday 15th December, was loaded with umpteen boxes of essentials – all the things on our list. There had been a great response to the call for shoes, blankets and the essential camping lights with power banks. Marlow encouraged people to donate money or lights. Colour rose up the base of a lamp with each camping light donated or purchased! We spent several hundred pounds of the Aid for Ukraine funds to purchase many more. Mila, our Administrator, told me how her brother in Ukraine frequently found himself and his family in darkness without power for long periods of time and just how important it was to have such a light to enable daily life to continue and to charge up mobile phones.
But other very special donations went on this truck too. Marlow had spent weeks making and filling hundreds of little bags of sweets for Christmas. A surprise donation of 200 bottles of makeup would make a treat for some. Maidenhead Rotary had designed special Shoe Boxes which they filled with thoughtful goodies… and then a local company did likewise! We lost count how many individual boxes there were.
This February we mark four years since the war broke out. Unbelievable, but still we must donate, still we must collect, still we must send. Thank you! And thank you to Ewa, our amazing partner!
