The United Reformed Church remains a small denomination in the United Kingdom but our membership of the World Aliance of Reformed Churches unites us to a large and worldwide fellowship of churches within the Protestand tradition.
In the United Reformed Church each local church is responsible under God for its worship programme and its witness and service to the local community. We observe the gospel sacraments of baptism and holy communion and submit ourselves to the Bible as the highest authority for our faith and action.
We hold a regular church meeting of members, and an elected body of elders shares the pastoral and spiritual leadership of the congregation with the minister.
The United Reformed Church is committed to pray and work for the unity of the church. We are a member of Chuches Together in Maidenhead and work in close co-operation with all local churches.
Today a braod range of activities takes place in the church buildings, run both by the church and organisations from the community in Maidenhead. New residents in Maidenhead are given a warm invitation to join us in worship and other activities.
We need new people to grow and continue God's work in Maidenhead. We would love you to join us.
Our Vision
Our Vision
We are followers of Jesus Christ, and we seek to be a Believing, Worshiping, Caring congregation, demonstrating His love in all we do. As members of the URC in West Street, we will focus on:
Believing
It is our desire and intent to offer relevant instruction and training, which is grounded in the Bible, for all ages so that we are led to a strengthening of our personal faith in Jesus Christ, and are helped to live for Christ thankfully and obediently in all areas of life.
Worshipping
It is our desire to acknowledge and worship our Creator in all life. In our Sunday services we come together as a family of God to celebrate His love, power and blessings and hear his word. We will also take time for individual and family devotions so that all we do is Christ-centred.
Caring
It is our desire that we care for each other in the congregation, as well as extending our care to those in the wider community, recognising that the whole world is part of God’s family.
Mission
It is our desire and intent that we should seek out at all times opportunities to actively present Jesus Christ and what he offers to those needing spiritual support.
