12 Church Life & Mission - Update

Alpha Course:

Plans are in progress to run another Alpha Course. If you would like to attend or are prepared to help in any way – host, provide food or be a leader, then please let me know.

Street Angels:

This project is progressing. The aim being to provide a non-threatening presence within Maidenhead Town centre on Friday & Saturday nights. The first volunteers are being trained and moves are in progress to form a charitable organisation to run the project.

Barn Dance:

Advance notice is given of the ever popular Barn Dance. We are planning one on the 5th February next year. Please put the date in your diary.

Commitment for Life/Harvest Sunday

The United Reformed Church support projects in Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Jamaica, and Palestine through its Commitment for Life programme. The Church Service on the Sunday before Harvest we will be focussing on these projects and gift envelopes will be provided for you donate, as part of your Harvest giving, to these projects. Please place your envelopes in the collection over the following 3-4 weeks.

Harvest Sunday will be on the 19th September this year. The sanctuary will be decorated to celebrate the festival and you are asked to bring any gifts of produce on the Friday night or Saturday morning. The produce given will be sold off by donation following the service. Simply take the items you want and for a suitable donation. All proceeds will go towards Commitment for Life.
